iOS 13.7 lets you opt-in to the COVID-19 Exposure Notifications system without the need to download an app. System availability depends on support from your local public health authority. For more information see covid19.apple.com/contacttracing. This release also includes other bug fixes for your iPhone.
The next two weeks will be fairly busy for Apple, with multiple new product launches, software releases, and more expected over that time. Below, we have recapped five key dates coming up for Apple so that you can mark your calendar accordingly.
What time will Apple release iOS 13 on Thursday
Gurman previously said updated 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models would be announced "in a matter of days, and he has since narrowed down the timeframe to tomorrow. The announcement will likely occur in the form of an Apple Newsroom press release.

If you are not in a hurry, consider waiting 18-20 hours after the update is out before installing it. This will also give you ample time to confirm there are no major showstopping bugs or issues with the updates that users are facing.
Apple hasn't said what it plans to release today, but if it does end up releasing new Mac models, as bloggers and media reports have suggested, it will add further momentum to Apple's oldest product line.
Assuming these details are right, it will leave Apple with the most diverse range yet. There will be the two iPhone 14 Pro models, the regular iPhone 14, all of which are as usual, and for the first time a big-screen iPhone 14.
Last year, there was some question as to whether Apple would call its 2022 release the iPhone 12s or iPhone 13. The fact that Apple went straight for iPhone 13 indicates to me that iPhone 14 is what we can expect this year. The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are shoo-ins for the premium phone, which leaves the fourth phone.
Apple also used the 13.2 beta to push the first Rapid Security Response updates to the Mac, which will allow Apple to push smaller, targeted releases are for security updates that arrive between full OS updates on Macs, iPhones, and iPads.
Look for other improvements to the Watch operating system, including menstrual-cycle tracking for women, the ability to run Apple Watch apps without an iPhone companion, and voice recording. Apple also announced some new watchbands that will be available in time for summer.
Apple uses a combination of enhanced real-time lyrics synced for karaoke and on-device machine learning for splitting vocals from the music track. It also separates and highlights background vocals for a better group experience. The company said that at launch, this feature will be available for the top 80% of its most-played songs with more tracks being added along the way.
Updates to Live Activities featureLive Activities are Lock Screen and Home Screen widgets that can be updated with real-time info. They were rolled out with the iOS 16.1 update. With iOS 16.2, Apple is introducing Sports score updates through the Apple TV app. U.S.- and Canada-based users will get access to scores for games from the NBA, English Premier League, and MLB. Meanwhile, users in Australia, Brazil, Japan, Mexico, the U.K., and South Korea will get access to MLB scores via Live Activities.
Apple usually goes through various beta builds before issuing a final version to the public, suggesting that with the release of the second beta the final public release of iOS 13.4.5 and ipadOS 13.4.5 is still some time away.
On Tuesday, the company is hosting a follow-up event after the unveiling of the iPhone 5 last month. This time, the company is expected to release details about its much-hyped tablet, the iPad Mini. Details about the iPad Mini were expected to be leaked on October 17, but eager Apple fans have had to wait until today for any firm details.
iPad Mini, a smaller version of Apple's pioneering tablet, will likely hit the shelves in time for the holidays. And though the rumors and prototypes are not as pervasive as the iPhone 5 ones, it is assumed the new gadget will be smaller, thinner and probably with lower resolution and (hopefully) a lower price.
FTC NoticePursuant to 16 CFR Part 255, the Federal Trade Commission's Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising, please note: (1) iPhone software and hardware developers routinely send me free versions of their products to review. I sometimes keep and continue to use these products that I did not pay for after posting my review, which might be considered a form of compensation for my review, but I do not believe that I let that color my review. (2) When I post links to product pages on certain stores, including but not limited to Amazon and the iTunes App Store, my links include a referral code so that when products are purchased after clicking on the link, I often receive a very small percentage of the sale. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Again, I do not believe that I let that color my review of products. (3) Some of the ads that run on this website are selected by others such as Amazon or Google. If one of these ads comes from the seller of a product reviewed on iPhone J.D., that is a coincidence and I do not believe that it colors my review of that product. Other ads are from paid advertisers, and if I discuss a product from a company that is a current advertiser, I will note that. (4) Some of the ads that run on this website are from monthly sponsors of iPhone J.D. When I discuss products from these companies on iPhone J.D., I do so to pass along information provided to me by the sponsor. Often, I will also provide my own commentary on the product, and while my goal is to be honest, please keep in mind that I was compensated to promote the product. If you have any questions about this, just send me an e-mail or post a comment on a specific product review.
And there is more news in the world of iOS updates. In just a few weeks, Apple will release iOS 13, a major update that I discussed in June. Apple has been testing beta versions of iOS 13 for a while now, both with folks who develop apps and also with members of the public who sign up for the beta program. Until yesterday, all of the betas were of versions of iOS 13.0. But yesterday, Apple also released to developers a beta of iOS 13.1. I cannot remember a time in the past when Apple has released a beta version of not the next version of the iOS but the one after that.
One interesting aspect of the iOS 13.1 beta is that it seems to confirm that some of the features that Apple announced as being a part of iOS 13 won't be in the initial iOS 13.0, but instead we will have to wait for iOS 13.1 to be released. According to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, the features that we will have to wait for include:
We don't yet know when we will see iOS 13.0, let alone iOS 13.1, but my guess is that the delay between releases will be about six weeks. The prevailing rumor is that Apple will unveil new iPhones on September 10, 2019, so I presume that iOS 13.0 will come out the following week, around September 16, 2019. Apple released iOS 12.1 on October 30, 2018, and released iOS 11.1 on October 31, 2017, so I presume that iOS 13.1 will similarly come out at the end of October 2019.
Update November 3: Apple will roll out iOS 16.2 beta 2 next week for developers and public beta testers. The Indian Express says the beta build will bring 5G support for iPhone users. So if you join the beta programme, you will be able to use Airtel 5G and Jio 5G services. If you do not want to install the beta version, you have to wait for the iOS 16.2 official version, which will likely release in mid-December 2022.
Apple is taking its users for a ride. I simply cannot believe that such a big entity will not be able to release 5G software before mid-December. It just amounts to arrogance on the part of Apple. If at all some issue is there, it can always be sorted out in the next update. Hope Apple releases the update immediately. 2ff7e9595c
